The MC1 X 16-3 MF-HF Receiver Multicoupler is designed for use with receiving antennas and communications receivers in the 100 kHz to 32 MHz frequency range. The multicoupler provides a nominal 3 dB amplification of the received signal to compensate for antenna cable losses. The MC-1 X 16-3 provides 16 receiver outputs from one antenna input.
The high isolation multicoupler design minimizes interaction between receivers and reradiation into the antenna. The multicoupler has 50 Ohm input and output impedances.
The multicoupler utilizes low noise, wideband, highlinearity amplifiers to drive the RF distribution circuits. The unique circuit design permits operation in the presence of high intensity RF signals while minimizing undesired intermodulation distortion and noise. The multicoupler provides a minimum of 50 dB isolation between outputs and a minimum of 60 dB output-to-input isolation.
The multicoupler is a 1-3/4" high (1 RU) rack mounting unit.
The standard internal filters supplied with the unit reject undesired out-of-band signals below 2 MHz and above 32 MHz. The 2 MHz high pass filter may be bypassed to enable the full 100 kHz to 32 MHz frequency range of the unit. An optional 500 kHz high pass filter is available to enable MF-HF operation and to reject LF signals. An optional 2 MHz low pass filter is available for dedicated MF requirements. Custom filters are available for restricted bandwidth applications or for single frequency notch requirements.
The multicoupler is also available equipped with either 8 (MC-1 X 8-3) or 12 (MC-1 X 12-3) outputs. On special order, the multicoupler is available with two antenna inputs and 8 outputs for each input (MC-2 X 8-3) or with four antenna inputs and 2 outputs for each input (MC-4 X 2-3). Consult the factory for optional filter or input/output configuration requirements.
The multicoupler continuously monitors the bias conditions of its amplifier stages. Any bias errors are indicated by the Amplifier Fault LED on the front panel. The amplifier assembly and the filter assemblies use Type SMB connectors for all RF signal interfaces allowing maintenance by replacement of the amplifier or filter assembly.
